  2.  AMIGA Plus Disk Information
  3.  
  4. If this is your original disk that came with AMIGA Plus,
  5.            PLEASE MAKE A COPY IMMEDIATELY!
  6.  
  7.     This disk features the following executable programs:
  8.  
  9. VirusX        - Brand-new Version 3.2 of Steve Tibbett's Public Domain virus
  10.                 fighting program is in the Utility drawer.  The documentation
  11.                 is found in the file VirusX.docs. We have included this
  12.                 utility because we feel that every Amiga user should be
  13.                 protected from contracting and spreading computer viruses.
  14.                 Also included in the VirusX package is the stand-alone
  15.                 program KV and its instructions, KV.docs, which must both be
  16.                 accessed from the CLI. KV will check files or directories for
  17.                 infection by the IRQ virus.
  18.  
  19. SuperView     - Version 2.1 of David Grothe's outstanding IFF picture display
  20.                 program is in the Art drawer.  Instructions are in
  21.                 SuperView.doc. This is the most powerful 'show' utility we
  22.                 have seen, it is used to display any pictures on this disk.
  23.  
  24. CalcFFP       - In the Programming directory, CalcFFP is the assembled
  25.                 executable code from Dr. Dan Wolf's Math library assembly
  26.                 language programming article.  It will do basic calculations
  27.                 using the Amiga floating point math routines, and is small
  28.                 enough to fit on a nearly full Workbench disk.  The source is
  29.                 in CalcFFP.asm. A brief note called ASMRead.me is also
  30.                 included. Double-clicking on the MathAsm icon will display the
  31.                 source file and notes.

  33. Iff2Geo       - A handy utility by Eric Cosky which will convert an IFF
  34.                 picture into a 3D object (.geo) file for use with 3D programs
  35.                 from Aegis and others.  Instructions are in the file
  36.                 "Iff2Geo.docs". It is in the Utility Drawer.

  38. FunPaint      - A simple paint program by John Casasanta is in the Utility
  39.                 drawer.  Instructions are in "FunPaint.Docs".  This program
  40.                 is very small, but will create IFF pictures in any standard
  41.                 format (sorry no overscan) including HAM!  It will also load
  42.                 standard IFF files... sometimes.
  43.  
  44. ColorText     - A small program to fix the system's Text() routine so that
  45.                 ColorFonts (tm Interactive Softworks) can be displayed. It is
  46.                 in the Fonts drawer.  More information is in the file
  47.                 "ColorText.Docs" and in the AMIGAPlus article on
  48.                 fonts by Lion Kuntz.

  50. Backgammon    - In the Gammon drawer, a cute version of a famous game.
  51.  
  52.    The Art directory contains SuperView and its instructions, a script file
  53.    called "Pictures" and its icon, and two pictures.  Mex_Triptych is a
  54.    SuperBitMap (3 screens wide!) IFF picture created by Lewis Tilley for his
  55.    Deluxe PhotoLab article. You can scroll it sideways by holding the left
  56.    mouse button while moving the mouse sideways (if SuperView is showing it).
  57.    The right mouse button will close the picture. Unfortunately, this large a
  58.    picture requires alot of memory; users with 512k may not be able to view
  59.    it. WoodLand2 is a ray-traced picture by Louis Markoya to accompany his
  60.    article on 3-D organic object rendering. All the objects in the picture
  61.    were mathematically defined as 3-D objects! Pictures is a script file with
  62.    an icon which will show the pics on the disk automatically.

  64.    The Utility directory holds VirusX and KV, the virus hunter programs and
  65.    their docs.  Also in Utility are Iff2Geo and its instructions and
  66.    FunPaint with docs.
  67.  
  68.    The Fonts directory contains ColorText and its instructions as well as
  69.    three versions of the Sherbert font: Sherbert 48, the normal font;
  70.    Sherbert 61, a ColorFont; and Sherbert.IFont, an InterFont which is useful
  71.    for structured drawing programs (like CAD or 3-D programs) because it can
  72.    be scaled and rotated without distortion.  Read Lion Kuntz' Fonts article
  73.    in this issue of AMIGAPlus for more information. There is also an
  74.    IFF picture, FontPic, which shows you what Sherbert 48 and 61 look like.

  76.    The Programming directory contains the assembler file CalcFFP.asm along
  77.    with some notes and the executable.  See Dan Wolf's Assembly language Fast
  78.    Floating Point (FFP) article for details.

  80.    The Gammon directory has a backgammon game in it, along with all the
  81.    little files it needs in order to run.  Just double-click on the
  82.    Backgammon icon to play.
  83.  
  84.    The Drawer directory is empty... but the chest of drawers would look
  85.    pretty silly without that drawer.  The "Chest of Drawers" icons (and other
  86.    icons on this disk) were created by icon artist Gary Roseman.  Use them
  87.    for your own disks!  The chest can be made higher by copying the middle
  88.    two drawer icons and inserting them appropriately.
  89.  
  90.    The entire disk has been processed with Blitz A Disk (B.A.D.) from M.V.
  91.    Micro (distributed by Centaur Software Inc.) in order to speed up disk
  92.    access. The format is the same as all AmigaDOS disks, but the files have
  93.    been reorganized so that the icons are found and displayed very quickly.
